Monsters and Skill Combos

Hello. So as far as i know some monster skills rely on stats, debuffs, and buffs, which potentially, can be bad, good or awesome. Skills that rely on the monster's stats can be good, but it can also be better when the monster gets a status buff like attack, defense, or crit rate. For example, water fairy's heal amount depends on her attack status, which is good, but when u buff her with attack buff from the fire hellhound, her heal amount will rise even further. Buffs increase the base stat for approximately 50%. Same thing applies to when enemy monsters gets debuffed. For example the wind fairy's 3rd skill damage inceases by a certain % when there are debuffs on the target, be it a stun, defense/attack break, continuous damage. That's how skills work in the game. So try to experiment monster set ups and have fun.

Now that's out of the way, let's try and look into some of the popular monster setups and skill combos.

First off is Fire Bounty Hunter and Wind Iron Armor. Let's check their skill.

Ready_to_Snipe_(Fire).png

Ready to Snipe: Increases Critical Rate and Defense of all allies for 3 turns. (Reusable in 6 turn(s)

thunderstrike.jpg

Thunder Strike: Strikes an enemy with thunder. The damage increases according to your Defense and ignores the target's Defense if it is lower than 50% of your Defense. (Reusable in 5 turns)

**We can see here that their skill works great with each other. Iron armor's thunderstrike relies on his defense stat and it has an added effect that ignores the enemy's defense when his defense is lower than armor's 50% defense. So if we buff him with bounty hunter's buff, he gets extra 50% defense from his base stat, greatly increasing the chances that the enemy's defense is lower than half of his, triggering the bonus effect of ignore defense. Ignore defense is really strong and reliable especially against high level players since their monsters will be tough and tanky. Added with a crit rate buff, he gets the chance to deal even more damage by 50% (default bonus crit damage). This is what makes the players build their wind iron armor rage blade. It can deal tons of damage.

Next isnt that popular but people are aware of this skill combo. Wind Ninetail fox and wind vampire. Let's check their skill.

Sweet Talk: Attacks the enemy and decreases their Attack Speed, Attack Power, and Defense for 2 turns. (Reusable in 4 turn(s)

deathblow.jpg

Death Blow: Deals a fatal blow to one enemy. The damage increases by 25% for each harmful effect on the enemy. (Reusable in 4 turn(s)

**Ok We can clearly see that their skills synchronize with each other. Ninetail fox gives those debuffs especially the defense break, and then vampire will deal the death blow. Multi-debuffing skills is kind of hard. Some monsters might resist one debuff so its good to give these kinds of monsters good accuracy to make sure they put all the debuffs to the enemy. Deathblow works best with defense break, not only making the enemy more vulnerable, but also increasing the skill. Top it off with buffing vampire with attack and crit rate, it works wonders.

Ok another example would be Wind Valkyrja and Light Fairy or Fire Epikion Priest. Let's check their skills.

Neal_Icon.png

Holy Shield.jpg

Holy Shield: Removes the ally's harmful effect and makes them invincible for 2 turns. (Reusable in 7 turn(s)

Chloe_Icon.png

Fanatic.jpg

Fanatic: All allies are invincible for 1 turn and gain Immunity for 2 turns. (Reusable in 8 turn(s)

Katarina_Icon.png

Sword of discharge.jpg

Sword of Discharge: Attacks randomly. The enemy's Defense is ignored when used in invincible state. (Resuable in 5 turn(s)

**Ok so this one looks similar from the first example, except that it needs a different buff. Although Valkyrja can buff herself with invincibility via killing an enemy with her second skill (click here), it's better if someone in her team can provide her the buff that she needs. This is common for high level players. Fire epikion priest or the light fairy can provide invincibility buff for her so she can use her 3rd skill's added bonus effect right away. This is good for Arena since valkyrja is a strong monster, besides the fact that she is a 5-star monster. Equipped with rage/blade set her 3rd skill with ignore defense can wipe out 1 single enemy or more, provided that her team gets the turn first and buffs her. So build swift runes with speed priority stats for fire epikion priest (which is actually a very common and recommended build). You can also do it on light fairy although the epikion priest is a much better partner. Again, add extra attack and crit rate buff and valkyrja can wipe out most of the enemy team.

Ok that's that. There are lots of fun monsters to have and experiment on, so have fun and try them out.
